Technical Architecture

Virtual Clinical Solutions' (VCS) Management Center provides our Clients with centralized, web-based access that is cost-efficient and secure.  No software to install, no hardware to purchase…our developers have created a mature data architecture that is scalable, multi-tenant-efficient, and configurable. 

Separate Database—VCS hosts data from multiple clients, keeping each client's data separate.  Configurable meta data allows our clients a unique user experience and feature set.  Your data remains logically isolated from data that belongs to our other Clients.  Meta data associates each database with the correct tenant, and database security prevents any tenant from accidentally or maliciously accessing other tenants' data.


Scalability
—The Management Center is scalable to an arbitrarily large number of users and content because the number of servers and instances on the back end can be increased or decreased as necessary to match demand, without requiring additional re-architecting of the application.  Changes or enhancements are rolled out easily to all of our clients. 

Access ControlRoles are managed within the application itself; individual user accounts, as well as user groups. Individual user accounts and groups can be assigned several different roles as required.  Access rights and restrictions for each user are tracked by using security policies, which are configurable for each client.

User Interface and Branding—Clients have the ability to modify the user interface to reflect corporate branding, graphics, and colors.

Workflow and Business Rules—While FDA and ICH regulations are the same for our clients, each client has different business needs and procedures.  To add value to our clients, the Management Center is flexible to accommodate differences in work flow.  There is no need to change your internal policies due to restrictions of the application.
